Robert (Bob) Thompson, formerly of Topeka Kansas, died on January 10, 2021.He was born in Columbus Ohio on May 2, 1924 the son of Harry and Mary Thompson. Bob received a medical discharge from the Army in June of 1943. He married Barbara Dietz Thompson in 1947. He is survived by three nephews. Bob was a Professor of Mathematics at Sterling College from 1947 – 1967 and at Washburn University from 1967 – 1989. Bob’s life’s purpose was to help young people reach their goals in education and to encourage them in their Christian life. He served as an Elder, Deacon, Teacher in Presbyterian Churches in Sterling and Topeka Kansas. Private family services will be held in Portland, OR. Memorial contributions may be made to Sterling College, 125 W. Cooper, Sterling, KS 67579.
